Wonder Drug to Beat Any Viral Fever

When someone has been under the weather, viral fever in such cases, one would use antibiotics to get proper treatment. But sometimes even penicillin which was discovered ancient ages beyond, does not work. These drugs turn out to be redundant in fighting viral infections, which would include influenza, colds and fevers which can be deadly such as the case of Ebola, says a source.
At MIT Lincoln Lab, there is a tam of researchers who have been working round the clock to bring out a wonder drug that would check which cells are infected by any virus and ensure that those cells are killed so that the infection can be terminated, say experts. The researchers have done studies on various patients who have been attacked by at least one type of virus or the other and the wonder drug they brought out has shown to work successfully in all fifteen cases. This would range from the common cold, to rhinoviruses and even the dreaded H1N1 flu, polio virus, stomach virus and dengue fever to name a few, say experts.
There is a certain type of RNA which is found in the infected cells, this is what the drug targets and doesn't allow the viruses to grow and spread later on, say experts at the MIT Lincoln Lab. The spectrum for the new technology to treat viral fever is new and can be used to tackle any outbreaks in future. For example, they are ready to battle SARS which attacked a lot of folks across the globe in the recent past, says a source.
Viruses take over the machinery of the cell they infect to use it at their own will and liberty, which means to make more viruses within and to infect more, says a source. While this is happening, there are long strings of RNA which are double stranded that are created by the virus. Human cells have been blessed with proteins to defend themselves against such attacks and this would stick to the double stranded RNA cells. By doing so it would ensure that no more copies of the virus is created and thus it allows to stop the spreading of the disease overall.
But there are cases when the virus can outsmart the system and bring the process of healing down by a few steps, say experts.
When mice were treated by the wonder drug DRACO, it was seen that those mice suffering form H1N1 influenza were completely cured of the sickness and there was no levels of toxicity found in the mice thereafter. At present more studies are being conducted with DRACO on mice against other virus types to know if DRACO can work on all viral fevers, the results are positive and astounding, says a source.
The esteemed National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases along with the famous New England Regional Center of Excellence for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases are working hand in glove to get this study done and to help the masses against viral fever issues, say experts.
