The Procedure and Importance of Immunization
No Comments »
When the foreign molecules invade your body immune system and fortify your immune response. Such fortification against foreign agents (immunogen) is called immunization.
Immunization develops the ability of a body to quickly respond to approaching encounters. In such way the body learns to protect itself. B cells and T cells of blood are most important elements that are improved by immunization; these cells and antibodies produce by them are responsible for the response on the second encounter of foreign molecules.
Vaccinations:
Those people who are vaccinated in childhood had greater resistance towards life-threatening diseases. Worldwide immunization programs had played great roles in blow up the fatal diseases like small pox, measles, etc. Now they are working hard to diminish diseases like polio, whooping cough, tetanus, hepatitis, rubella, mumps, influenza, Haemophilus and diphtheria.
Certain vaccines provide immunization for the life span while others have to take repeatedly. When diseases invade a human body, the antibodies fight and annihilate antigens. Vaccines are introduced to invoke the reaction for the rapid production of antibodies; these antibodies remain active for life time or less.
Types of Immunization:
The two ways of immunization are active immunization and Passive immunization.
Active immunization:
In active immunization, foreign molecule is introduced into a body, which causes a body to generate immunity against the target. Such immunity comes from T cells or B cells. This is a natural method for immunization.
Passive immunization:
In passive immunization elements, i.e. antibodies of an immune system are transferred to the body. This method works very quickly but lasts for a short time. In this, the antibodies are artificially created. However, in the absence of B cells these bodies will diminish.
Passive immunization can be introduced in the fetus through mother. This type of immunization is introduced with help of injections. One such emergency immunization is that of tetanus, which can prevent further infection after injury.
Immunization and birth vaccination:
Vaccination is one best defense, which can parents provide to their child for all lifelong. The first form of natural immunization is that of breastfeeding your child. Mother milk has strong antibodies, which cannot be produced artificially, until now. These antibodies not only strengthen the immune system of baby but will provide protection all lifelong. Second immunization which can be provided by parents to their children is in a form of vaccination.
Latest improvement in field of immunization:
New vaccines are being developed all over the world every day. The basic purpose is to eliminate the chances of infectious epidemics. One such vaccine is prevenar which strengthen the immune system of the body against multiple infections like pneumonia, especially in children. Furthermore, British scientists developed immunization system because of which the effects of vaccine can be stabilized for a longer duration using Nova's patented hypodermic rehydration injection system (HydRIS).
